An antique Scottish cast and engraved silver brooch, with double hearts surmounted by a crown.
It is fitted with a horizontal silver pin and an earlier(?) pendant suspension loop. No hall marks/maker’s mark, but possibly Aberdeen, first half of the 19th century.
There has been a reassessment of such ‘Luckenbooth’ brooches. A recent study* by Lyndsay McGill FSAScot., suggests that the majority of heart brooches in Scottish collections were not made in the Luckenbooths or Locked Booths of Edinburgh. They likely hail from further north, many from Inverness and Aberdeen. A large quantity of the earlier heart brooches were unmarked.

This vintage Mexican modernist style silver cuff is designed in an organic, abstract loop. A minimalist, fluid, sculptural piece made in Taxco, a town in the state of Guerrero, southwest of Mexico City famed for its silver jewellery production and Spanish architecture.
The cuff has a lovely heavy feel and is beautifully made. It sits within the mid-20th century modernist jewellery tradition in sterling silver, where sculptural, flowing forms were explored.
Kinetic shapes like this one were popular among artisan silversmiths from Mexico and the American Southwest in the 1980s, when Taxco and regional makers experimented with abstract, bold volumes in silver.
This cuff, imported from Mexico, was then re-tested and hallmarked in the UK.
The open cuff design allows gentle adjustment to make the bangle slightly bigger or smaller to suit the wearer’s wrist.

This art deco sterling silver & paste rivière necklace features 26 faceted black paste stones in beautiful claw-set sterling silver. Each stone is connected with delicate, parallel, moving double links. Worn high on the neck, this choker style rivière frames the collarbone in a clean, unbroken line of stones.
If there is one necklace that truly embodies effortless elegance, it's the rivière.
